What can I expect during a counseling session?
Counseling sessions are confidential and non-judgmental spaces where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a licensed, trained professional. Your counselor will work collaboratively with you to identify goals, develop coping strategies, and explore solutions to your challenges. Sessions may involve talking, reflection, skill-building exercises, and homework assignments tailored to your individual needs.
How long does counseling typically last?
The duration of counseling services varies depending on the individual's needs and goals. Some clients may benefit from short-term counseling focused on addressing specific issues, while others may require longer-term therapy for more complex or ongoing concerns. Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we accept insurance from a variety of networks including Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, South Dakota Medicaid, Health Partners, and more. We recommend double checking if your provider is in network by viewing Our Team. Please contact our office to verify if a specific provider is in network with your insurance company and discuss payment options.
What if you don't accept my insurance?
Many of our clients choose to pay out of pocket for services. At Foundations Counseling LLC, we believe you should be in control of your treatment and not the insurance company. To help facilitate this, we accept credit cards as well as HSA cards. We can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement from an Out of Network Provider. Please contact our office to discuss each provider's private pay rate, payment options, and find a solution that works for you.
Is counseling confidential?
Yes, counseling sessions are confidential, and your privacy is our top priority. Information discussed during sessions is protected by law & professional codes of ethics and will not be shared with anyone without your consent, except in rare circumstances where the limits of confidentiality have been reached. We adhere to strict ethical guidelines to ensure your confidentiality and trust. If you wish for your provider to speak to someone we will ask you to fill out and sign a Release of Information.
